Rimowa x Faber-Castell

A colourful journey through life

Humans can distinguish up to sixty shades between white and black. Incidentally, the only colour darker than white and lighter than black is grey: minimalist and understated, with the potential to make other colours really shine. And by ‘other colours’, we mean Faber-Castell’s Polychromos coloured pencils, which are now available in a limited-edition Rimowa case.

The fact that two long-established German brands such as Faber-Castell and Rimowa have joined forces seems less like a coincidence and more like a logical consequence. Both stand for craftsmanship, creativity and timeless design, and both create objects that accompany us in our everyday lives. One as a tool for thoughts and stories, the other as an object for travel. With the limited-edition Rimowa x Faber-Castell case, they are now celebrating the ideas that emerge when we explore the world.

Crafted from anodised ribbed aluminium, the case combines characteristic Rimowa design elements with exclusive details from Faber-Castell: high-gloss aluminium corners from the Classic Collection, TSA-approved locks and a leather handle in Faber-Castell’s signature green.

Inside, the two-tier storage system folds out to reveal 120 high-quality pigments and smudge-proof Polychromos coloured pencils, bespoke, grooved 2B pencils designed for ergonomic comfort, as well as a platinum-coated sharpener and eraser featuring the Rimowa logo.

And since a suitcase is meant for travelling, we’d already know exactly where to go. That’s because the Zurich Design Weeks are taking place in Zurich from 17 to 27 September.
