Market Surveillance Authority

To enforce the Accessibility Reinforcement Act, the federal states of Germany have agreed to establish a joint market surveillance authority. The basis for this is a state treaty that provides for the creation of a central office located in Saxony-Anhalt. The authority – expected to be named “Market Surveillance Office of the Federal States for Accessibility of Products and Services” – will be responsible for monitoring accessible products and services. Before it can begin operations, the treaty must still be ratified by the federal states. Once ratification is complete, the information regarding the market surveillance authority will be automatically added to this accessibility statement.
