Look, it's grown up: Since its debut in 2006, the Jeep Compass has evolved from a compact entry-level model to a serious representative of the mid-range SUV class.
The new generation is now based on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, grows to around 4.55 metres in length and offers more interior space and up to 550 litres of load volume, while the angular bodywork with short overhangs, wide wheel arches and the classic seven-slot grille makes the family DNA clear. Jeep is focusing on electrification for the drive system - from a 48-volt mild hybrid with 145 hp to a plug-in hybrid with a system output of around 195 hp and an electric version with 213 hp.
And now a word about the brand itself. The Car Design Award, which was launched in 1984 on the initiative of the Italian trade magazine *Auto&Design*, has honoured Jeep for the brand’s design language. We’ll simply pass on the jury’s statement for the winner of the category »Brand Design Language« here without comment:
‘Without ever denying its roots, Jeep design reinterprets distinctive design features – such as the seven-slot grille and the trapezoidal wheel arches – and transforms them into universal symbols of adventure and freedom. In the age of the energy transition, it continues to shape the collective imagination of a spirit of discovery and makes authenticity the cornerstone of every creation.”
Congratulations.
