Norman Konrad was born in Gotha in 1976 and before turning his full attention to photography trained as an auto mechanic. During this time, he was constantly looking at his watch, as he told us, because the time simply didn’t want to pass. He then studied photography and design in Bielefeld and Prague and since 2006 has been working as a freelance photographer. Clients include Nivea, Spotify and print media such as The Red Bulletin and Stern. The Berliner-by-choice still keeps a close eye on his watch, though these days he is surprised at how time flies. Asked why exactly he became a photographer, Norman Konrad says, “It sounds like a cliché, but I take pictures because I really enjoy working with people.”
Norman Konrad about the creation of the photo with Paulina Rojinski shown above: “People often want their photos to be colorful and lively. This time I had more time to think of something in advance. For the shoot with television presenter and actress Palina Rojinski, I ended up choosing Onkel Philipp’s Spielzeugwerkstatt, a toy store in Prenzlauer Berg. It was perfect!”
