Carbon as a religion
With the Superleggera, carbon isn’t just a feature – it’s a philosophy.
Frame, swingarm, rear section, fairing, wheels – almost everything is made of carbon fibre. Even where other manufacturers would have stopped long ago, Ducati is only just getting started.
The result: 173 kg (dry weight) with road registration.
Or to put it another way: absurdly light.
And it’s not just about weight savings. Ducati uses carbon fibre specifically to enhance the riding experience: less lateral stiffness in the front frame for better feedback, a one-piece rear structure, a hollow swingarm cast from a melted-out wax core. High-end manufacturing, somewhere between aerospace and craftsmanship.
