Real good times: IWC at Art Basel Miami

A supermodel, an engineer and the luxury watch brand IWC meet. No, that's not another punchline and it's not a typo. It's the short version of a special encounter at Art Basel. The only thing left to say: Welcome to Miami.

Time is relative, that much we have known since Albert Einstein. And that beauty is in the eye of the beholder is clear anyway. At Art Basel in Miami, these two aspects came together in an inspiring panel talk by Gisele Bündchen, who was interviewed for IWC by Highsnobiety editor Malaika Crawford. It quickly became clear that the two types of perception are not as far apart as one might initially think. Because everyday life as a supermodel requires a high degree of time management, the Brazilian legend revealed.

"With a busy schedule and always on the go, I've learned to make the most of every minute," explained Bündchen. All possible thanks to her IWC Ingenieur. It is the perfect watch for this challenge. After all, not only is the time always in view, but the aesthetics are right at all times. "I like wearing my Ingenieur because it's beautiful and comfortable. You can wear it with anything and it just looks great," said Bündchen.

1/3

Which in the end cannot be a coincidence: At the beginning of this year, the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer presented the Ingenieur Automatic 40. It is based on Gérald Genta's Ingenieur SL (reference 1832) from the 1970s - and is in no way inferior to it when it comes to the highest standards of ergonomics, workmanship and technology. And then there is perhaps its most important characteristic: beauty. It may be relative - but it is always timeless.
