Limited VIP Edition: Porsche – The Design Book

Porsche SEEN

You can’t plan for the future. And that’s just as well. “But I can shape it,” says Michael Mauer, former head of design at Porsche. Which brings us to ideas and visions. In 2020, Porsche published a series of images under the title “Porsche Unseen”, featuring more than a dozen secret design studies. Well, and because these studies had already become firmly embedded in our consciousness, we felt it was only logical to bring them to life. Just for the sake of it. For us.

Porsche 919 Street (2017)

The Porsche 919 Hybrid won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times in a row. That was from 2015 to 2017. The Porsche 919 Street was developed using existing technology and promised to bring the LMP1 racing car’s exhilarating driving experience to amateur drivers too. Hidden beneath the bodywork are the carbon-fibre monocoque and the 900 PS hybrid racing powertrain that had helped the Porsche 919 Hybrid to victory at Le Mans. It immediately brings the whole scene to mind. A 1:1 scale hard-shell model.

Porsche Vision ‘Race Service’ (2018)
The Porsche Vision ‘Renndienst’ is a futuristic take on a family-friendly estate car for up to six people. The aim of the development: to combine sportiness with spacious comfort. This is achieved through an all-electric powertrain, a central driver’s seat and a modular cabin. And thanks to a trailer, you can even take a 911 GT3 RS with you on holiday.

Porsche Mission R (2021)
Porsche Mission R (2021)
The Mission R is Porsche’s all-electric vision for customer motorsport. Its striking design is optimised for aerodynamics, whilst the minimalist interior is geared towards efficiency and performance. Featuring 900-volt technology and direct oil cooling, it delivers over 800 kW (1,088 PS) of peak power and accelerates to 100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds. Its 82-kWh battery charges to 80 per cent in 15 minutes and has a range sufficient for a sprint-format race.

Porsche Vision 357 (2023)

The Porsche Vision 357 was unveiled to mark Porsche’s 75th anniversary in 2023 as a tribute to the legendary Porsche 356 – the very first Porsche ever built. With its monolithic form and futuristic details, the concept car combines tradition and innovation. Based on a 718 Cayman GT4 RS, it combines 500 PS, sustainable materials and aerodynamics – in other words, the core values of the 356: light, agile, fast.
