A stellar moment

Last night, the new Michelin stars were awarded in Frankfurt. Who was there? Our good friends at Althoff. We’re all the more delighted that three of the hotel restaurants have been showered with stars: the dune in Frankfurt, the Restaurant Überfahrt on Lake Tegernsee, and the Vendôme in Cologne.

When we at ramp write about Michelin, it’s usually more about tyres than stars. Today we’re making an exception. Because there’s cause for celebration: no fewer than three restaurants from the Althoff Hotel Collection have impressed the judges at this year’s Michelin star awards. Whilst the Überfahrt restaurant on Lake Tegernsee and the Vendôme in Bensberg near Cologne successfully retained their stars, ‘the dune by Niclas Nußbaumer’ at Frankfurt’s luxury hotel THE FLORENTIN was awarded two stars straight away. This calls to mind the old saying ‘Nunc est bibendum’ – ‘Now is the time to drink’. And so we’ve come full circle back to the Michelin Man, Bibendum.

Whether it’s modern flavour-driven cuisine at ‘the dune by Niclas Nußbaumer’ at Frankfurt’s new premier address, THE FLORENTIN; regionally inspired haute cuisine at Cornelia Fischer’s Restaurant Überfahrt on Lake Tegernsee; or world-class culinary excellence at Dennis Kuckuck’s Restaurant Vendôme: this is where exceptional culinary artistry and hospitality of the highest standard come together.

The Dune, THE FLORENTIN

With *the dune*, Niclas Nußbaumer has achieved an immediate and resounding success: the restaurant has been awarded two Michelin stars straight away. His cuisine is characterised by cosmopolitan elegance, precise craftsmanship and a modern, flavour-driven style.
