The wooden structures of the roof also follow this maxim: they give the building its name and form a kind of winter garden on the first floor. Its clear glazing allows an unobstructed view to the west side, while the eastern side of the roof in frosted polycarbonate provides privacy. A proverbial open space, suitable for a wide variety of activities: Vegetable growing, a studio for creative work or simply a place to enjoy the view and daylight despite the changing weather.
A bathtub and a bed can transform the space into a spectacular room in spring and autumn; in the warm seasons, the house seems to enclose the entire garden. Indoor and outdoor spaces grow together through the many openings and floor-to-ceiling windows in wooden frames. In winter, the compact, insulated house becomes a small, cosy place from which one can observe the landscape and the changing weather through the panorama windows.
