Speaking of legends: singer John Legend is one of the few artists to have won at least one Emmy, one Oscar, one Grammy and one Tony Award – all the major prizes in the US entertainment industry. It goes without saying that a man like that has perfect pitch. Reason enough, then, for Bang & Olufsen to appoint him as its new brand ambassador.

At the age of 15, John Roger Stephens – Legends’ real name – won an essay competition to mark Black History Month. The prompt was: “How would you like to make your mark on Black history yourself?” In his essay, he wrote about how he wanted to become a successful musician. With 135 nominations and 51 awards to his name – including all four major prizes – one could say he has certainly succeeded.

Now comes his latest success. The 47-year-old is to become a brand ambassador for Bang & Olufsen. Two big names, one shared philosophy: using sound to connect people across cultures and generations.

For almost a century, the Danish audio manufacturer has been synonymous with the fusion of technology and craftsmanship. The result is products with a unique sound and timeless design. It is hardly surprising, then, that Legend has been an avowed fan of the brand for years.
