Lenny Kravitz is perhaps one of the last great rock stars – and, thanks to his laid-back attitude, coolness and unerring sense of style, has long been an icon.

For the musician, designer and brand ambassador for Jaeger-LeCoultre, success has never been an end in itself, but rather the result of perseverance, creativity and the courage to consistently follow his own path. The watchmaker’s campaign captures on camera why it is precisely the quiet moments on and off stage that continue to drive him to this day – authentic, vulnerable, unobserved.

‘Good Things Come at the Right Time’

In this episode, Lenny Kravitz looks back on a defining moment in his career: he tells the story behind “Let Love Rule” – the song that not only defined his debut album but also became a kind of personal manifesto. Even more than 30 years later, Kravitz describes its message as something he still believes in today.

With “The Hour Before”, Jaeger-LeCoultre offers an unusual perspective on artists, actors and athletes. The series explores the hours leading up to the decisive moment – those phases of preparation, doubt, searching and creation that precede subsequent success.

It explores the parallels between the various “crafts” of these talents and the art of watchmaking at Jaeger-LeCoultre, rooted in the Maison’s core belief: excellence is not born in the spotlight. It is born in the moments before.
