Forza Ducati: Three Times World Champion in a Row

MotoGP sees red: In an unprecedentedly successful season, Ducati completely dominates the premier class of motorcycle racing, winning all titles. In the riders’ contest, Jorge Martín emerged as the champion following an exciting duel with Francesco Bagnaia.

There are victories. There are titles. And then there’s what Ducati is currently doing in MotoGP: making history. For the third time in a row, the iconic motorcycle manufacturer from Borgo Panigale has left its mark as world champion in the highest class of motorcycle racing. The key to this accomplishment – and to the numerous additional records along the way – is a never-ending commitment to personal excellence and to the technology it develops.

The inspiration? Rooted in a long academic tradition, as Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati, explains: “After the crazy joy of 2022 and the ‘victory of awareness’ of 2023, today we want to celebrate the triumph of a system: the ‘Ducati System’. A system inspired by the teachings of Galileo Galilei, the inventor of the scientific method and modern science. A system that has led us to be the best in track-racing competitions, and which we also apply in the research, design and development of our products, proudly bringing Made in Italy engineering all over the world.” And, especially important for Domenicali: “It is the same talent and dedication that we apply to the development and design of our production bikes.” In other words: Win on track, win on road.

At the end of the 2024 season, “Made in Italy” was synonymous with “success”. Pramac Ducati rider Jorge Martín secured the riders’ title in Barcelona with his Desmosedici GP24, while Ducati won the constructors’ and team titles with Ducati Lenovo Team. Only once during the course of the season did a competitor manage to beat the riders of the Desmosedici. But hey, nobody’s perfect.

The figures leading up to this result are more than impressive: a total of 19 victories in 20 races this season; 14 all-Ducati podiums; six times the first five riders to cross the finish line did so on a Ducati. Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati Lenovo Team), Marc Márquez (Gresini Racing MotoGP) and Enea Bastianini (Ducati Lenovo Team), like world champion Jorge Martín, won several times and completed the top four in the overall standings, which were also claimed entirely by Ducati this year. But why stop at the premier class when you can conquer the whole world?

At the Superbike World Championship, Nicolò Bulega and Álvaro Bautista let the corks fly for Aruba.it Racing, winning the manufacturers’ and team titles together and showing how they spell success in Italian with podium finishes in the riders’ standings.
