Powerhouse

Q by Aston Martin is the name of the British manufacturer’s in-house personalisation programme. The name is no coincidence, but rather a nod to Q, the legendary quartermaster from the Bond films, who regularly supplies the secret agent with specially equipped vehicles and gadgets. What Q by Aston Martin has now unveiled exclusively at Monterey Car Week could easily have come straight out of a film: the new Aston Martin Valen.

Aston Martin and James Bond – one of the most famous partnerships in film history. Admittedly, not every Bond drove an Aston Martin. But when he did, it was guaranteed to become an icon. From the Aston Martin DB5 in ”Goldfinger”, to the V12 Vanquish in ”Die Another Day” and the DBS Superleggera in ”No Time to Die”. Even back then: a glimpse into the brand’s modern future. And that future is now.

With the Aston Martin Valen, the latest V12 special edition from Q by Aston Martin, the car manufacturer is launching the world’s most powerful front-engined production car, as well as the most powerful front-engined Aston Martin in the company’s 113-year history. The name? It says it all. It comes from Latin and means ‘strong’ or ‘powerful’.

This translates to the new supercar, limited to 150 units: the bodywork is made entirely of carbon fibre, and a host of lightweight, motorsport-inspired materials reduce the weight by up to 110 kilograms compared with previous V12 models. The Valen is powered by the brand’s most powerful 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12, delivering an impressive 850 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque from as low as 2,500 rpm. The top speed is electronically limited to 345 km/h. Custom-made magnesium wheels fitted with Pirelli tyres ensure the perfect balance between everyday driving and sporty performance on the racetrack.

Valens exhausts? It becomes an emotional sound experience thanks to the new, lightweight titanium exhaust system. In concrete terms, this means that the four-outlet system takes its design cues from a mid-engined sports car and applies them to the bodywork of a front-mid-engined supercar.
The interior is characterised by its understated design; customers can customise the accessories and equipment – such as the Sports Plus or Performance seats available to choose from.

It can therefore be summarised as follows: A provocative front-engined supercar that exudes pure power and sportiness, whilst retaining the brand’s luxury, attention to detail and unmistakable design language.
