Ferrari SC40 "Best of the Best"

People famously argue about taste. Hardly anyone argues about the relevance of the Red Dot Award: the 2026 winners have been announced, and the Ferrari SC40 has secured the highest distinction in the Product Design category — "Best of the Best".

Every year, the international jury of the Red Dot Award, whose members now come from 19 countries and four continents, presents two awards in the respective categories: the "Red Dot" and the "Red Dot: Best of the Best". The latter is considered the highest honour in the competition and recognises particularly pioneering design.

What makes good design for the jury? Exactly four criteria:

  • The quality of function: what purpose does the product fulfil?
  • The quality of seduction: is the product aesthetically pleasing?
  • The quality of use: is it intuitive and self-explanatory to use?
  • The quality of responsibility: is the product sustainable or durable?

In the Product Design category this year, the jury honoured the one-off creation SC40 from Ferrari out of over 61 entries

In the Red Dot Design Ranking of the most successful car brands, Ferrari is undisputedly in pole position. In the last twelve years, Ferrari has won a total of 35 Red Dot Awards – a record that no other car manufacturer has achieved since the award was introduced in 1955.

Since 2015, Ferrari has also been honoured with the "Best of the Best" 13 times – including for the FXX-K, the 488 GTB, the Ferrari J50, the Portofino, the Monza SP1, the SF90 Stradale, the 12Cilindri and now the SC40 – incidentally the first one-off to receive this award.
