New times: Our highlights of Watches & Wonders 2024

The watch manufacturers have delivered - and boy have they delivered. Numerous new products were once again presented at the Watches & Wonders watch fair in Geneva. An overview with our personal highlights.

Rolex GMT-Master II

Under the slogan "Echo of Emotions", Rolex presents the new GMT-Master II in stainless steel Oystersteel. Equipped for the first time with the Cerachrom dial in grey and black ceramic, there are two new versions: one with our Oyster bracelet, the other with a Jubilee bracelet. Also new - and highly fashionable - is the 24-hour hand typical of the GMT-Master, which now shines in green.

Tudor Black Bay Chrono Pink

As we all know, pink is not for the mainstream, but it is for the brave. And Tudor presented the bold Black Bay Chrono "Pink". Based on the popular chronograph, the Swiss brand has made a real statement - thanks to the unmistakable pink dial, which has also been combined with a five-row bracelet in stainless steel with a TUDOR "T-fit" clasp with quick-adjustment system. There is no mention of a limited edition, but there is talk of "a small number" of watches to be sold.

Chopard Mille Miglia JX7

Honour to whom honour is due: Chopard dedicates the Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph JX7 to Jacky Ickx. This is the seventh time the two legends have worked together. This time, the novelty is inspired by the Belgian's unmistakable helmet. One innovation is the colour of the rubber strap with the characteristic Dunlop tyre tread: for the first time, it is also available in a deep midnight blue, perfectly matching the colour of the dial. Depending on the edition (steel or yellow gold), the watch is limited to 250 or 50 pieces.

Zenith Defy Chronograph, DEFY Extreme Diver & DEFY Revival A3648

The spirit of Zenith's DEFY line has always been to constantly surpass itself and set new standards in terms of performance and style. Which 2024 has more than succeeded in doing. Because all good things come in threes, the Maison is also bringing three versions of the DEFY to Geneva: the brand new chronograph version of the DEFY, the historically inspired DEFY Extreme Diver diver's watch and the DEFY Revival A3648, a faithful reproduction of the first DEFY diver's watch from 1969. IWC PORTUGIESER ETERNAL CALENDAR

The first secular perpetual calendar from IWC Schaffhausen automatically takes into account the Gregorian calendar's exceptions for leap years by skipping three leap years in 400 years. More than impressive, considering that this is a mechanical watch. The semi-transparent dial on two levels, combined with the usual quality of the manufacture - irresistibly clean.
