Singer has always been a special car customiser. Always a touch more sophisticated than the rest. Always a step ahead in terms of style. And completely unique. A Singer Porsche is, so to speak, the haute couture of car manufacturing.

So, of course, it was only a matter of time before a renowned fashion house discovered the potential of this car customiser. That has now happened, with the two cars resulting from the Louis Vuitton x Singer collaboration.

This story began with a request for a dashboard clock in the Tambour design. It has now culminated in two exclusive Porsche 911 ‘Reimagined by Singer’, created in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. In between lies a year’s work on a complete redesign of all the vehicles’ instruments and functional elements. Both models are based on the Porsche 964, featuring a lightweight carbon-fibre body and a six-speed manual gearbox.

The Porsche 911 ‘Reimagined by Singer – Classic’ in saffron and cobalt blue, inspired by the luxury fashion brand’s historic colours, features a specially integrated roof rack for skis or a surfboard. The interior is finished entirely in leather, with decorative stitching in yellow and the leather edges dyed using the signature Louis Vuitton process. The metal parts – buttons, switches and air vents – are handcrafted, partly rhodium-plated and polished using techniques from the art of watchmaking.

The ‘Classic Turbo’ Cabriolet, designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of the Louis Vuitton womenswear collection, and finished in Calcaire-Lutétien white, draws inspiration from the look of classic motorboats. Gold-coloured instruments, a leather patch on the steering wheel bearing Ghesquière’s signature, and a boot made from lacquered wood using boat-building techniques add a touch of refinement to the interior.

To ensure the overall look is just right, each of the two vehicles comes with its own exclusive capsule collection comprising leather jackets, jeans, shoes, helmets, gloves and bespoke luggage. The Classic model includes 17 items; the Ghesquière model comes with 22 stylish accessories.
