In 1837, Louis Vuitton arrived in Paris and began an apprenticeship with Romain Maréchal, a maker of trunks and packaging – thus laying the foundations for his empire. Around 1860, he revolutionised the art of travel: the traditionally domed lid of the trunks gave way to a flat design. From the Courrier Trunk of 1870 to the Bed Trunk of 1885 and the Flower Trunk of 1910, each of these creations tells a part of Louis Vuitton’s unique travel story – characterised by a spirit of innovation and craftsmanship. Now Pharrell Williams is building on this legacy and, to accompany the Spring/Summer 2027 menswear collection, the new High Trunks – an ocean-inspired collection that reinterprets the Courrier Lozine 110 whilst celebrating the 130th anniversary of the iconic Monogram.
