There are moments when two worlds that seem to have nothing in common collide – and that is precisely what gives rise to the unexpected. For the second time, The I.C.E. St. Moritz is travelling to Lake Como, bringing with it what is arguably the most essential ingredient of Como Lake Cocktail Week: ice.

Every year, when the winter season reaches its peak, Lake St Moritz is transformed into a white stage for what is arguably the coolest Concours d’Elegance in the world: The I.C.E. St. Moritz.

From there, our journey takes us to Lake Como, some 100 kilometres away, where the next spectacle is already awaiting us. The Como Lake Cocktail Week celebrates the fine art of mixology. The Villa d’Este provides the backdrop – a venue already well known to motoring enthusiasts from the Concorso d’Eleganza. Fittingly, this year’s event is themed ‘Stories from a Book’ – books become cocktails, cocktails become stories.

After all, a good cocktail needs to be staged: preparing it is a ritual that requires precision, elegance and passion. The recipes may be centuries old in some cases, and the rules of bar culture firmly established, yet skilled mixologists are constantly finding new ways to reinvent the perfect serve.

And to achieve this goal, they are prepared to take their craft to the most unusual of places …

This is exactly where The I.C.E. becomes part of the story: for hardly anyone understands better how to bring alpine charm to the shores of Lake Como in such an unconventional way as our friends from Switzerland.

For Cocktail Week, this means: blocks of ice straight from the Engadin, cocktails on and in the water, an amphibious vehicle and an ‘Iceman’ on a mission to serve what is surely the most extraordinary aperitif of the summer.

You can still sip cocktails on Lake Como until 5 July. And if, given the temperatures, you’re understandably longing for winter: the next edition of The I.C.E. St. Moritz will take place from 29 to 30 January 2027.
