The architect Piero Portaluppi originally designed the Palazzo Crespi between 1928 and 1932 for the Crespi family – a wealthy industrialist family who used the building as a private city palace.
Around 100 years later, the palazzo is opening its doors for an exhibition for the first time. As part of the Milan Design Week, Kaldewei is initiating a dialogue between past and present with Milan design studio Parasite 2.0 and Bianca Felicori, founder of Forgotten Architecture, focusing on the culture of the bathroom.
With "Bubbles of Time", Kaldewei translates Portaluppi's architectural approach into a contemporary perspective - using selected design icons and new colour concepts such as the MST Classic Duo Oval, which is staged as the archetype of the freestanding bathtub. The Nuio Duo Zen Edition adds another level to the show and rethinks the bathroom as a place of calm, concentration and sensual experience within today's home architecture.
