Celebrities under the palm trees: Villa Igiea in Palermo

Getting married where others go on holiday? It works a treat at Villa Igiea in Palermo, as the celebrity wedding of singer Dua Lipa and actor Callum Turner impressively demonstrated.

On 31 May, Dua Lipa, whose parents are from Bosnia and Albania, and British actor Callum Turner tied the knot in Sicily. The celebrations lasted several days against a backdrop that could scarcely be more glamorous. Speaking of love. Did you know, by the way, that ‘Dua Lipa’ isn’t a stage name, but her real name? It means ‘love’ in Albanian. Which we think is rather fitting for the occasion.

Situated right on the Gulf of Palermo, Villa Igiea is one of Italy’s most prestigious hotels – and has been welcoming guests from all over the world for over a hundred years.
