Highly performative

Anybody who builds super sports cars strives for mechanical perfection by nature. Of course, the same applies to haute horlogerie. So what do you do when your car brand celebrates its 100th birthday? You develop a high-performance watch together with a luxury watch manufacturer. Introducing: the Bianchet UltraFino Maserati.

25 April 1926: At the Targa Florio in Sicily, the name Maserati appeared for the first time not only on the drivers' lists, but also on the teams. Founded in 1914 as Officine Alfieri Maserati, the company entered its own racing car with the trident as the brand emblem for the first time: the Maserati Tipo 26, which promptly won the 1.5-litre class. The birth of a brand. And a legend.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the car brand with the iconic trident, the company has created the UltraFino Maserati, limited to 100 units, in cooperation with Bianchet. The Maserati MCPURA super sports car served as the inspiration. The skeletonised dial of the watch picks up on the design language of the MCPURA's rim architecture with its birdcage design, whose triple-split spoke design forms a trident motif. The striking AI Aqua Rainbow colour of the MCPURA permeates the dial of the watch and runs along the case as a characteristic accent.

The UltraFino also follows a consistent performance logic in terms of materials: titanium for the movement structure, high-density carbon fibre for the case and bracelet. They reflect the torsional rigidity of the carbon chassis of the MCPURA, while the flying tourbillon cage - visible and floating - is reminiscent of the beating heart of the Nettuno V6 engine. The centrepiece is the Bianchet UT01 calibre: with a height of just 3.85 millimetres, it is one of the most remarkable ultra-thin tourbillon movements in its class. A newly conceived construction, including a free-floating barrel, enables a power reserve of 60 hours despite its extreme slenderness.
