Speed Dates: Chronograph novelties 2026

There are things that simply belong together. Just like motorsport and chronographs. Numerous Maisons have been making a name for themselves in motorsport for a long time and are passionate about their collections. We take a closer look at three sporting friends.

It's all about seconds and their fractions. In motorsport. And in the watch industry. Technical excellence is needed in both. Being fast pays off in any case. Whoever wins the 24 Hours of Daytona receives a Rolex Cosmograph Daytona as well as the trophy. TAG Heuer's square icon on the other hand? It's called Monaco, synonymous with the most legendary of all Formula 1 Grand Prix's. And Tissot continues to go full throttle and expand its collection around its timekeeping role in the motorbike world championship.

ROLEX Cosmograph Daytona
It is said that no two laps in racing life are ever exactly alike. It is pretty much the same with the variants of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona, they are always well known - and yet completely unique. This is also the case with the latest Rolesium configuration in Oystersteel and platinum, which features a newly developed Cerachrom bezel in anthracite and a white enamel dial. The latter is manufactured using the elaborate Grand Feu technique at more than 800 degrees. Inside, the tried-and-tested calibre 4131 is at work, visible through the sapphire crystal case back, which reveals a skeletonised rotor in yellow gold.

TAG Heuer confirms this once again with its latest creation: the TAG Heuer Monaco Evergraph completely redesigns the inner workings of the iconic square watch. At its core is a true paradigm shift: the new TH81-00 calibre with its so-called "Evergraph" escapement. Instead of numerous moving parts, TAG Heuer has opted for a greatly reduced, monolithic architecture made of silicon. It is anti-magnetic, extremely light and requires practically no lubrication. This reduces friction, minimises wear and tear and also ensures more stable rate accuracy in the long term. Taken together with the innovative carbon spring oscillator, the result is a watch that can be considered groundbreaking.

Tissot translates the adrenaline of MotoGP into a wearable form: The new T-Race MotoGP 2026 45mm is limited to exactly 2026 individually engraved pieces - and is a consistent reference to the motorbike world championship. Inside, the Valjoux A05.951 movement, visible through the skeletonisation, works like an engine, embedded in a 45 mm steel case with a black PVD coating and complemented by forged carbon applications. Red accents, a tachymeter and a watch box like a motorbike helmet round off the package.
