Hotel Auerhahn: naturally luxurious

The Hotel Auerhahn in the Black Forest shows how tradition becomes the future. In the centre of the border triangle, the historic hotel combines nature tourism with luxurious experiences. Time for a trip to the Schluchsee.

The Hotel Auerhahn rests on three pillars: Design, cuisine and holistic relaxation. The concept can be traced back to hotel manager Marius Tröndle. The fact that the trained chef and experienced hotelier runs the hotel today is due to his family's long history with the hotel, which began in the 18th century. In the interim, from 1900 to 1984, the Auerhahn was owned by others, then Tröndle's grandfather bought the building back. After the restoration, the house was leased for 30 years and Marius Tröndle took over the management in 2021. Since then, he has been continuing his family's history at Haus Auerhahn.

Spend the night at the Auerhahn
Between Zurich, Basel and Freiburg, directly in Schluchsee, things are quiet. The Hotel Auerhahn also transports this prevailing tranquillity of the surroundings into its interior: lots of wood and clear, contemporary shapes create a relaxed, warm atmosphere and space for soothing hours. Nature lovers with a sense of luxury will find a haven in 43 rooms.

Dining at the Auerhahn

The Auerhahn provides the perfect culinary accompaniment for every occasion with two restaurants: the Brasserie Barbara serves reinterpreted classics every day between 12 noon and 8 pm, while the Restaurant Auerhahn opens for breakfast and fine dining in the evening. The dishes are characterised by a regional focus, the highest product quality and precision craftsmanship. Executive chef Yann Bosshammer is responsible for the entire culinary offering.

Relax in the Auerhahn
At Schluchsee, visitors can not only relax in nature. The Auerhahn also offers a retreat where you can recharge your batteries: in the 900 square metre wellness area with freshwater pool, brine-salt pool and saunas. Day passes are also available. For those who want to be a little more active, there is a fitness area and daily yoga and sports classes.
