Don't call it football.

CUPRA's spirit could just be experienced in the ramp space – now the brand has started a new season as the official partner of the Kings League Germany. Why is the collaboration such a perfect fit? Both stand for the courage to try new things, push boundaries and rethink things.

From 2 to 12 March, CUPRA was present in our brand store with the ramp space x CUPRA Raval experience. Under the motto "Beyond Rebel", the Spanish challenger brand dedicated its installation to the urban energy of the car, which is intended to mark the beginning of a new era for the brand – an experience that made the brand's attitude immediately tangible.

A motto that also fits perfectly with the Kings League. If you're not quite familiar with the rules of this new game, we've summarised them for you in a nutshell.

First things first:
Don't call it football.

Because the Kings League, launched in 2022 by former Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué together with several streamers and influencers, is much more than that: "No longer just grass and stands. But rather stream. Chat. Community", as Giuseppe Fiordispina, Marketing Director at CUPRA Germany, explains.

The Kings League Germany has now entered its third season and will be held at the CUPRA Arena in Cologne until 12 April. The innovative format is more than just football – it's pure entertainment: the game is played 7 against 7, two halves of 20 minutes each. There are secret cards with special effects (e.g. double goal, penalty, shootout or short shortage of opponents), unlimited substitutions, permitted hand throws and a shootout from the centre in the event of a draw. This ensures speed, excitement and surprises. Many processes and special rules are created by fan votes, which means that dynamics and entertainment are at the forefront – so somehow classic football, but in show format. 

The matches will be streamed live on Twitch, TikTok, YouTube and DAZN, with commentary from the best influencers in the German-speaking world.
