A Living Tradition

To mark the start of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Bentley is unveiling the new 1919 Collection – translating the brand’s sense of community into an exclusive, strictly limited-edition clothing range.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed gets underway today. Bentley is also taking part, with more than 35 cars and a 500-square-metre stand. For fans of the brand, there is another new feature alongside the cars: the exclusive 1919 Collection.

At the heart of the collection is a chore jacket in Bentley Green, made from robust cotton Oxford fabric that is designed to develop character over the years. It also features chain-stitch embroidery in Heritage White, copper buttons and a removable Velcro patch bearing the inscription ‘Full Send’ – a nod to stunt driver Travis Pastrana’s viral video in the Bentley Supersports and to the very same car that can also be seen in the Supercar Paddock at the Festival of Speed.

The collection also includes a sweatshirt, polo shirt, T-shirt, cap, tote bag and key ring. Bentley Green, black and white form the colour palette of the collection, paying homage to the brand’s long history.

Incidentally, the collection was designed by Bentley’s External Creative Director, Mai Ikuzawa, who has a background in both the worlds of design and motorsport. Her father, Tetsu Ikuzawa, was a Japanese racing driver who competed for Sir Frank Williams in European Formula 2 and at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Her grandfather was an artist. She combines both influences in the 1919 Collection. In doing so, she pays tribute to Bentley’s rich heritage, whilst the style and cut of the garments are unmistakably rooted in the year 2026.

And now for the small print: the collection is strictly limited and can only be purchased this weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and in August during Monterey Car Week. In other words, these garments will definitely identify you as a connoisseur.
