RIMOWA: From the Archive

RIMOWA reaches deep into its bag of tricks and conjures up the Classic Grid collection, which reinterprets the characteristic grid design from 1969.

1969: a year full of upheavals, both political and social. The moon landing. Woodstock. Willy Brandt becomes German Chancellor. Jackie Stewart becomes Formula 1 world champion for the first time.

And RIMOWA? Launched a hand luggage case with a geometric pattern on the market in 1969. Practical, modular and technically precise – "form follows function" applied then as it does today. 57 years later, the brand is bringing this very suitcase back from the archives and reviving the unique design.

Available in the three sizes Classic Hand Suitcase, Classic Cabin and Classic Trunk, the collection impresses with its classic, robust aluminium hard shell. The motif is picked up on by the quilted lining, while the leather accents in the characteristic blue, the typical handles, the palladium locks and the rivets with aircraft embossing are also reminiscent of the original from the archives.

If you want to expand your luggage, you have to hurry: the suitcases are limited to 1,969 pieces.
