Ready to Race: TAG Heuer Formula 1 Solargraph

A true synonym for innovation? You could just say “Formula 1.” This applies not only to the racing series, which returned from its summer break last weekend, but also to the world of watches. Thanks to TAG Heuer.

In the world of Formula 1, time never stands still. In fact, it seems to pass a little faster here. TAG Heuer is particularly close to the pulse of the premier class. 1986 was a pretty momentous year for the luxury watch brand: that was when its original Formula 1 collection was launched and Heuer became TAG Heuer thanks to investors. Almost 40 years later, TAG Heuer is once again the official timekeeper for the racing series and has accompanied a wide variety of world championship timekeeping events. What's more, the Swiss brand now offers a new 38-millimeter version of the Formula 1, which echoes the original design with its iconic bezel.

Consisting of a total of nine models, the classic dials in black and white, deep blue, and red form the core collection. At the heart of the sandblasted stainless steel case with DLC coating or the TH Polylight case beats a movement that really picks up speed, matching the namesake racing series. For the first time, a Solargraph movement is being used in the TAG Heuer Formula 1 line. This technology charges the watch's battery using sunlight or artificial light. It's a perfect fit for the sunny Grand Prix classic, which takes place this coming weekend in Monza, Italy. Our recommendation: the red model.
