Leica Q3 Monochrom: Always see black the same way

No colours, no excuses. That kind of thing. The Leica Q3 Monochrom concentrates on light and shadow. The quality of the motifs therefore depends more than ever on the photographer. And yes, the camera itself is of course also black and white. What else?

With this sentence, Samuel Fuller once put his finger on a truth that photographers have always known: When the distraction of colour disappears, quality must come in. Otherwise things quickly become boring. The new Leica Q3 Monochrom leaves no room for excuses, taking Henri Matisse at his word, so to speak, that the queen of all colours is black.

A specially developed 60 MP black and white full-format sensor completely dispenses with colour filters and only captures brightness information. In other words: colour is not possible. Like its siblings from the Q series, the Q3 Monochrom combines modern technology with design. The camera remains compact, elegant and functional. The fast Summilux 1:1.7/28 ASPH. delivers razor-sharp results, whether in everyday life, when travelling or on night-time excursions. If you want to get closer, use the integrated macro mode.

For those who prefer to focus themselves, there are helpful focus assistants. If you want to rely on the moment, you can use the precise autofocus. Elliott Erwitt is recommended for those for whom this is not enough: "Colour is descriptive. Black and white is interpretative."
