USM Haller: fashionable and modular

From 30 January to 2 February, Berlin Fashion Week was once again all about fashion. Around 42 collections were presented this time, and another highlight was USM Haller, whose modular furniture was an eye-catcher on the catwalk.

This year's Fashion Week in Berlin presented around 30,000 visitors with the latest designs from up-and-coming talents and well-known names alike.

In a world where the pace seems to be constantly increasing, many designers responded by consciously slowing down – reduction, authenticity and sustainability were the key themes.

In this spirit, the Swiss company USM Haller once again presented itself as a partner to selected designers this year – and showed how its iconic, modular furniture pieces have an impact far beyond their classic context and create new perspectives.

USM × WILLIAM FAN – "Ring the Bell"

Founded in 2015, the Berlin label William Fan produces clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery and furniture – combining materials such as velvet, corduroy, brocade and pleats with technical fabrics and waxed surfaces. Modularity also plays a recurring role: inner jackets can be removed, for example, and faux fur collars can be added or reinterpreted.

As part of the "Ring the Bell" collection, the two long-standing partners William Fan and USM Haller presented a walk-through catwalk at KW Institute for Contemporary Art, which translated the label's familiar retail experience into the context of the show. Specially designed USM furniture became a central part of the staging and offered a hybrid environment between catwalk, exhibition and retail space.

USM × OBS – "You can rely on us!"

Since 2019, the OBS label from Augsburg has been redefining design – with unique concepts and high-quality materials. The distinctive, raw edges and visible seams of their leather bags are a trademark. The collections also include clothing and jewellery.

At this year's Fashion Week, the label presented its second show "Auf uns ist Verlass!" together with USM, which focussed on the physical working day. The performance took place on a circular stage that represented the interconnected spaces in which OBS thinks and works on a daily basis. The modular furniture system from USM provided structure and function in the space.
